Mastering Setting Up a Metamask Wallet is a topic that could make for a grand challenge, cheatsheet, tutorial and more. You could structure it like so:
Step 1.) Prepare to Create Your Own Free Metamask Wallet
Get a piece of paper (yes, paper) in your own personal (gasp!) paper notebook and also a pen.
When you set up a Metamask Wallet, you’ll set up your own personal password. And because anyone and everyone will try to hack the contents out of you, you want that passwd to be reaaaaaally long and complicated.
can instantly randomize such a password. Use that site, create one that is at least 16 characters long, and use THAT as your password.
Next, move to:
Step 2.) Create Your Own Metamask Wallet from the Original Tutorial Above.
Did you know you can use browsers or mobile for that? Here’s some resources:
Mobile Android/Google Play:
Finally, move to:
Step 3.) Actually Install Metamask and Use It!
When you install your Metamask wallet, you’ll be provided a 12 word Secret Recovery Phrase. Write that down (along with your password!) into your paper notebook.
NEVER EVER EVER! give that out to *anyone*. I mean it. You’ll discover that many coins have their own private discord and server.
And people from out of the blue will try to friend you, they’ll lie to you, they’ll tell you they are support…
… and they will ask for your passwd and secret recovery phrase.
If you give that out, you will virtually certainly see all your wallet funds…. drained.
You will NEVER be able to recover them.
In addition, if you look at your wallet on the blockchain (more on that later), you’ll see *unknown* coins or tokens suddenly appear!
Almost certainly, these are malicious and baddies and horrible thingees and NEVER interact with them, because (again), your wallet will almost certainly be drained.
